AANS MISSION AND VISION

AANS NEUROSURGEON
The official socioeconomic publication of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), AANS Neurosurgeon, features information and analysis for contemporary neurosurgical practice. Published quarterly in an online-only format, AANS Neurosurgeon focuses on issues related to legislation, workforce and practice management as they affect the specialty of neurosurgery.

Informed readers are invited to contribute information to several areas of AANS Neurosurgeon. Instructions and forms for all types of submissions to AANS Neurosurgeon are located on the Write page.

Open Article Submissions
Only objective, non-promotional articles that comply fully with the instructions for authors may be considered for publication. Articles must be original and not have been published previously in print or online. The AANS reserves the right to edit articles for compliance with publication standards and available space, as well as to publish them in the section it deems most appropriate. Articles accepted for publication become the property of the AANS unless another written arrangement has been agreed upon between the author(s) and the AANS.

Peer-reviewed Research
AANS Neurosurgeon seeks submissions of rigorously researched, hypothesis-driven articles concerning socioeconomic topics related to neurosurgery. These papers undergo thorough peer review. Papers must comport with the pertinent instructions for authors.

Inside Neurosurgeon
AANS Neurosurgeon invites submissions of news briefs and bylined articles covering the news and views of organizations related to neurosurgery. Submissions must follow the pertinent instructions for authors.

Letters
Send a Letter to the Editor, commenting on articles you have read in AANS Neurosurgeon or on a topic related to the practice of neurosurgery, by emailing aansneurosurgeon@aans.org. Include your full name, city and state, as well as disclosure of any conflicts of interest that might have bearing on the letter’s content. Correspondence selected for publication may be edited for length, style and clarity. In submitting a letter, authorization to publish the correspondence in AANS Neurosurgeon is assumed.
