Study: Toxic Buildup a Mechanism for ALS, Neurodegenerative Diseases
The toxic buildup of certain proteins and related cell molecules has been linked to gene mutations that cause amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known asALS) and other neurodegenerative disorders. Led by a team at the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the University of Colorado, Boulder. The research may yield new treatment approaches to these devastating diseases.
