Healthcare Quality Group Issues Recommendations for Improving Patient Safety
The majority of U.S. hospitals may not be much safer today than they were 10 years ago, says an editorial published in the Journal for Healthcare Quality. Last year, the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) launched a call to action to find feasible solutions in improving patient safety. The NAHQ issued four recommendations in this effort: accountability, protection of those who report safety and quality issues, the accurate reporting of safety and quality data, and a robust response to quality and safety concerns.
