Doctors May Misdiagnose Chronic Pain in the Weeks After Stroke
Ten percent of stroke patients are said to suffer from chronic pain. In a condition called central post-stroke pain syndrome (CPSP), neuropathic pain begins in the days or weeks following a stroke as a result of damage or dysfunction in the central nervous system.
