Smart Phone Technology May Hold Key in Stroke Rehabilitation

Researchers at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center are using the same technology found in mobile devices to measure mobility in individuals who have suffered a stroke. Wireless sensors called accelerometers, which assess acceleration and movement to adjust images on smart phone screens, are placed on study participants’ chests, arms and legs, relaying information on how well a person is moving.
