Dementia Sufferers May Notice Its Signs Early, Studies Suggest
Studies featured at the recent Alzheimer’s Association conference revealed that those who have concerns about their cognitive ability (or “the worried well” as they have been called) were more likely to have Alzheimer’s pathology in their brains and to later develop dementia. Researchers are investigating a new category of patients who experience “subjective cognitive decline”, which occurs when an individual senses that his or her mental acumen is dwidling even before anyone else takes notice.
