The Science Behind Brain Freeze
Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, which means more cold treats and an unpleasant side effect: brain freeze. Sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia, as it is known scientifically, is a headache brought on rapidly by consuming a cold food or drink too quickly.
